Skills forecast annual update 2020: ESI transmission, distribution and rail

The skills forecasts identify the priority skill needs of industry and propose future training package activity. The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has changed the annual requirements for industry skills forecasts to a three-year schedule with a brief annual update in the intervening years. This report updates the 2019 skills forecast [available in VOCEDplus at TD/TNC 137.285]. The skills forecast updates for 2020 will be submitted on behalf of the 11 Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) that Australian Industry Standards (AIS) supports to the AISC for approval, focusing only on proposed work for this year. IRCs consult broadly with stakeholders to ensure a whole-of-industry view about the opportunities and challenges for the workforce and the training package review work necessary to meet industry needs. The information is then used to develop the four-year IRC proposed schedule of work.

Currently there are no UET Electricity Supply Industry - Transmission Distribution and Rail Sector Training Package products currently identified by the ESI-TDR IRC for review or development during this forecast period. Where imported Units of Competency are identified as either deleted or superseded, the IRC may elect to revise the affected qualification(s) through the IRC minor upgrade process.
