A capability framework for the VET sector: a proposed approach

Precision Consultancy has been contracted by Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) to develop this discussion paper about the capabilities of practitioners in the vocational education and training (VET) sector and to develop a draft capability framework for the sector. This is part of an overall plan by IBSA to develop a suite of products that enable career progression for those who work in VET. These products can be combined with both non accredited courses and the range of qualifications available in the higher education sector relevant to the VET workforce, to provide professional development options. This discussion paper sets out some current ideas and research into the capability needs of practitioners in the VET sector, as well as the proposed content of a workforce capability framework for the sector.
